Come discover the exciting sport of horse archery! We focus on having a good time while we learn how to master archery on a moving horse. Our members include riders of all ages and experience levels of horses and archery. We're happy to guide you through the process of learning how to combine archery and horseback riding. We have people who have been riding or shooting their whole lives but never experienced the other skill, as well as people who have never held a bow or sat on a horse before.
All equipment is provided, as well as safe, experience archery horses that will help you become comfortable as you master new skills. The highest emphasis is on safety and having fun. This sport provides a true world-wide community feel while maintaining a highly competitive atmosphere. Whether you're here to blow off steam on the weekends or want to come compete with us, you're guaranteed to have a good time.
During your first lesson we will cover horse archery techniques on the ground, then get you comfortable on an experienced archery horse. By the end of your first lesson you will be walking down a competition pass and making shots off your horse. First lessons are a little longer due to combining both ground and riding lessons. Even as an experienced archer we will need to go over horse archery skills to make you successful in the saddle. What works on the ground will not always work on the horse, but what works on the horse will work everywhere.

S&J Stable will provide all equipment needed for lessons, including helmets, though you are welcome to bring your own gear if you have it.
In order to have a comfortable mounted archery lesson S&J Stable recommends the following:
- Long pants
- Closed toe shoes, preferably with a small heel. No sandals or high heels.
- A belt (for your quiver!)
S&J provides the following for mounted archery lessons, although you are welcome to supply your own if you have them:
- Certified riding helmet
- Traditional horse bow or a recurve bow (no compounds allowed!) and/or arrows
- Saddle
- Thigh, hip, or back quiver
